Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Swansea is seeking a Driver's Mate to support our drivers in delivering goods safely and on time. The role involves manual handling and coordinating loading to the vehicle.

Typical day tasks include assisting with loading/unloading, staying in touch with the transport team, and completing handheld-device processes. This is a 6 month fixed-term, on-site position with shift patterns and potential interview dates in September 2026.

Qualifications

• Physically fit for manual handling.
• Experience with volume orders is advantageous.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workload.
• Able to perform simple maths calculations.
• Previous Driver's Mate experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate picking and loading of goods onto the vehicle.
• Assist driver with unloading deliveries at premises or homes.
• Stay in touch with the transport team to report issues.
• Complete relevant processes on an electronic handheld device.

• Coordinating the picking and loading of alcohol / white goods / furniture onto your assigned vehicle prior to delivery
• Accompanying and assisting driver with unloading deliveries at licensed premises or homes
• Staying in touch with the transport team to advise of any problems
• Completing relevant processes on an electronic handheld device

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Are physically fit as the role involves lots of manual handling
• Have previous experience of working with volume orders
• Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage their own workload
• Can perform simple maths calculations
• Previous experience as a Driver's Mate, within a similar environment would be ideal but isn't a deal breaker!
