Job summary

DHL is seeking a Class 1 Driver based in Ebbw Vale to operate in a two-person delivery team or solo as required, delivering goods to pubs and other customers. You will join a permanent role with a Monday–Friday pattern and early start times.

Applicants should hold a Category C driving licence, Driver CPC, and Tachograph card, with ideally 12 months of recent driving experience and strong organisational skills. The role includes manual handling and safe load management.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 1 Licence (C) required, Driver CPC qualification and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Physically fit for manual handling and long drives.
• Experience with high-volume orders is desirable.
• Safe driving in line withHours/Directive and road safety rules.

Responsibilities

• Drive in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.

• Coordinate loading of goods and ensure loads are within weight limits.
• Stay in touch with transport team to report issues.
• Regularly complete vehicle checks.

Location: Ebbw Vale, NP23, 8FX

we are looking for a Class 1 Driverto work with a drivers mate to deliver good to different pubs

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Driving in a safe and efficient manner in line with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive regulations
• Complying with our health and safety standards at all times, ensuring adherence to The Highway Code, road safety rules and vehicle regulations
• Coordinating the picking and loading of alcohol to your assigned vehicle prior to delivery
• Staying in touch with the transport team to advise of any problems
• Regular completion of vehicle checks
• Manual handling of customer products

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Are physically fit as the role involves lots of manual handling
• Have previous experience of working with volume orders
• Have excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage their own workload
• Can perform simple maths calculations
• Secure loads effectively and ensure loads are within the weight limits
• Report any excesses, shortages or damage to supervisor in a timely manner
• Happy to do deliveries to customers as part of a two man delivery team or single handed as required
• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 Driving Licence (C), Driver CPC Qualification and Digital Tachograph Card
• Ideally have 12 months recent driving experience
• Ok to Start btw 5:00 -12:00 ( to be advised in advance)
