Job summary

AO is looking for a Driver Quality Coordinator to become the heartbeat of our self-employed driver network at our Exeter site. You will welcome new talent, energize teams, and champion a culture of positivity and performance with support from a capable team.

You will deliver training, lead recruitment sessions, monitor driver performance and safety, and handle queries on payments, routing and claims to ensure fair work allocation and high standards across the network.

Qualifications

• Demonstrates strong communication skills and leadership ability.
• Proven ability to engage and motivate teams.
• Solid IT skills including Microsoft Office and warehouse management systems.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging training sessions to new and existing self-employed delivery drivers.
• Lead recruitment presentations to onboard high-quality contractors.
• Monitor performance and fairness, improving driver grading and equitable work allocation.
• Reduce customer complaints by supporting drivers and addressing issues quickly.
• Maintain accurate training records and support internal audits.
• Champion safety and compliance with Safe Systems of Work and internal policies.
• Be the main contact for driver queries, including payments, routing, grading and damage claims.
• Support incident resolution including property, vehicle, and product damage, with retraining as needed.

• Salary: From £30,000.00 to £32,000.00 per annum(depending on experience).
• Hours: 40 hours per week.
• Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
• Job Type: Full time and permanent contract

Here's What You Can Expect To Be Doing

• Deliver engaging training sessions to both new and existing self-employed delivery drivers, ensuring they’re confident and prepared.
• Lead recruitment presentations to attract and onboard high-quality self-employed contractors.
• Monitor performance and fairness, helping to improve driver grading and ensure work is allocated equitably.
• Reduce customer complaints by proactively supporting drivers and addressing issues quickly and effectively.
• Keep accurate training records and support internal audits to maintain high standards.
• Champion safety and compliance, ensuring drivers are up to date with Safe Systems of Work (SSW) and internal policies.
• Be the go-to contact for driver queries — from payments and routing to grading and damage claims.
• Support with incident resolution, including property, vehicle, and product damage, and deliver ad hoc retraining where needed.
