Job summary

Browne Construction is seeking a reliable Driver Operative (7.5 Tonne) to join our Civils team, delivering materials, equipment and waste between sites and providing hands-on on-site support on projects across Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

You will work with site teams, assist with excavation and utility tasks, maintain vehicles to high standards and participate in a call-out rota for out-of-hours work.

Qualifications

• Experience driving and operating commercial vehicles including 7.5 tonne tippers.
• Full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• Strong focus on health and safety and safe working practices.
• Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Transport materials, equipment and waste between sites.

We're looking for a reliable and hardworking Driver Operative (7.5 Tonne) to join our Civils team, supporting projects across Sussex, Kent, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. Vacancy Introduction

As a Driver Operative, you will play an important role in the safe and efficient delivery of civils works by transporting materials, equipment and waste between sites while supporting operational activities on‑site. Working closely with Supervisors, Gangers and site teams, you will help maintain safe, organised and compliant working environments, assist with excavation and utility‑related activities, and ensure vehicles and equipment are operated and maintained to the highest standards. The role also includes participation in a call‑out rota to support emergency and out‑of‑hours operational requirements.

What We're Looking For

• Experience driving and operating commercial vehicles, including 7.5 tonne tippers.
• Full UK driving licence with C1 entitlement.
• Valid Driver CPC qualification.
• A strong focus on health and safety and safe working practices.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Groundworks, utilities or civils experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
• NRSWA, NPORS Vehicle Marshal, Emergency First Aid or Manual Handling certifications are desirable.
