Driver Hire Ashford & Tonbridge is recruiting for a 7.5 Tonne / Van Driver based in Marden, Tonbridge. This temp-to-perm role offers a stable career with a permanent position after a qualifying period.

You will perform multi‑drop deliveries to trade customers across Kent and London, handle loading and unloading, and maintain high standards of customer service. Early starts from 4:00am, around 10 hours, nights out 1–2 per week.

Qualifications

• Commercial driving experience required.
• Valid Category C1 (7.5T) licence.
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
• Maximum of 3 penalty points.
• Reliable, hardworking with excellent customer service.
• Physically fit with regular heavy lifting.
• Flexible for nights out and occasional weekend work.

7.5 Tonne / Van Driver - Temp to Perm

Location: Marden, Tonbridge
Pay: £12.96 per hour | £16.70 per hour overtime

Driver Hire is recruiting for a 7.5 Tonne / Van Driver on behalf of our client based in Marden, Tonbridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable, hardworking driver looking for a long-term, stable role with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.

Pay & Benefits

• £12.96 per hour
• £16.70 per hour overtime (paid once monthly minimum hours have been completed)
• £50 per night out
• Monthly bonus of up to £130 (subject to company bonus criteria, including vehicle care and driving standards)
• Temp to perm opportunity after a successful qualifying period
• Full training provided, including product knowledge and warehouse processes

Working Hours

• Monday to Friday
• Early starts from 4:00am onwards
• Typically around 10-hour shifts (9 paid hours after a 1-hour unpaid break)
• Regular nights out are required - typically 1-2 per week, although this can increase to up to 4 depending on workload
• Occasional weekend flexibility may be required, including returning on a Saturday morning or travelling on a Sunday to be ready for a Monday delivery

The Role

You’ll be delivering bathroom and plumbing products to trade customers across Kent, London and the wider South East, (for nights out you will head towards Devon) This role involves driving both 7.5 tonne vehicles and company vans, depending on operational requirements.

Duties include:

• Multi-drop and bulk deliveries to trade customers
• Loading and unloading bathroom and plumbing products
• Manual handling and heavy lifting throughout the day
• Providing excellent customer service
• Completing delivery paperwork accurately and safely

What We’re Looking For
