Job summary

Veolia in Telford is seeking an experienced driver to operate across planned collection locations, moving waste containers and ensuring accurate data entry in the onboard system. You will perform daily vehicle checks and comply with all traffic and load regulations as part of a 48-hour week starting early mornings.

Essential qualifications include an HGV Class 2 licence, CPC and Digi/Tachograph Card. Experience in waste handling and good local knowledge are desirable.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence is essential.
• Up-to-date CPC is required.
• Digi / Tachograph Card mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Drive to planned collection locations and move/empty multiple waste containers.
• Record information into onboard system and submit daily paperwork.
• Perform daily vehicle checks as per operator handbook.
• Comply with traffic laws and load weight regulations.

Salary: £41,429.28 per annum plus Veolia benefits - Paid weekly
£5.00 daily meal allowance, and Single person allowance - Earn an extra £41.16 daily when you complete over 110 bins

Hours: 48 Hours per week, Monday to Friday 4am starts
Required to work Saturdays and Bank Holidays on a rota basis

What you’ll be doing;

• Driving to planned collection locations and moving / emptying multiple commercial waste containers
• Ensuring all information is input into the onboard system and all paperwork is kept up to date and submitted daily
• Completing daily checks of the vehicle as per our driver operator handbook
• Complying with all traffic laws and legislation including and weight of loads

What we’re looking for;

Essential:

• HGV Class 2 (Cat C) licence

Desired:

• Prior Experience in the Waste Industry
• Good Local geographical knowledge
