Job summary

DHL Supply Chain in Sheffield is seeking a reliable Class 1 Driver to join our team. You will deliver steel products to customers, manage up to 5 drops daily, and uphold safety and customer service standards.

The role requires a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC, Digital Tachograph Card, and at least 12 months' experience. Shifts are 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an early start. You may assist with office-based tasks during holidays or sickness.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, with at least 12 months' recent Class 1 driving experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivering steel products to customers for onward processing or final delivery, with up to 5 drops per day.
• Safely securing and restraining loads, including manual handling duties where required.
• Operating vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to Drivers' Hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
• Maintaining full compliance with company health and safety procedures, the Highway Code, road traffic legislation, and vehicle regulations.
• Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects in line with company procedures.
• Providing occasional office-based support to cover holiday and sickness absence as required.

DHL Supply Chain is looking for a reliable and professional Class 1 Driver to join our team.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY INVOLVE

• Delivering steel products to customers for onward processing or final delivery, with up to 5 drops per day
• Safely securing and restraining loads, including manual handling duties where required
• Operating vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to Drivers' Hours regulations and the Working Time Directive

THIS ROLE WOULD SUIT PEOPLE WHO

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, with at least 12 months' recent Class 1 driving experience
• Are comfortable with manual handling duties, including securing, strapping and restraining loads
• Have good customer service skills and maintain a professional attitude when dealing with customers
• Have previous driver training experience or are willing to undertake training to support driver development activities
• Are flexible and willing to provide office-based cover to support holiday and sickness absence when required
