Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a reliable Class 1 Driver to join our team in the United Kingdom. You will deliver steel products to customers, secure loads, and operate vehicles in line with Drivers' Hours regulations.

Occasional office-based support may be required during holidays. Applicants must hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, with at least 12 months' recent Class 1 driving experience.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence, Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card, with at least 12 months' recent Class 1 driving experience.
• Comfortable with manual handling duties, including securing, strapping and restraining loads.
• Good customer service skills and maintain a professional attitude when dealing with customers.
• Have previous driver training experience or are willing to undertake training to support driver development activities.
• Flexible and willing to provide office-based cover to support holiday and sickness absence.

Responsibilities

• Delivering steel products to customers for onward processing or final delivery, with up to 5 drops per day.
• Safely securing and restraining loads, including manual handling duties where required.
• Operating vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to Drivers' Hours regulations and the Working Time Directive.
• Maintaining full compliance with company health and safety procedures, the Highway Code, road traffic legislation, and vehicle regulations.
• Carrying out daily vehicle inspections and reporting any defects in line with company procedures.
• Providing occasional office-based support to cover holiday and sickness absence as required.
