Domestic Supervisor

The shift pattern below requires five shifts to be worked per week and may include weekend working

Our domestic team take pride in ensuring all areas of the hospital meet high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all patient, visitor and staff areas. For these positions, it is desirable to have previous cleaning experience but not essential, we can provide full training. You will however need to have:

good communication skills both written and verbal

be able to demonstrate good customer service skills

Main duties of the job

To take responsibility for the day to day running of the Domestic department, ensuring the Domestic service is compliant with cleaning standards as detailed in the National Specification for Healthcare Cleanliness in the NHS.

To ensure that the Domestic department provides a good quality service, good value for money service to all end users, patients, visitors and staff, thereby providing a clean environment.

Education and Qualifications
  • Good level of general education
  • Supervisory qualification or equivalent, BICS,NVQ, NEBSS
Experience and Knowledge
  • To demonstrate at least two years proven experience of successfully supervising a multidisciplinary team
  • Awareness of all relevant Health and Safety regulations in the workplace
  • Experience of working within a cleaning service
Skills and Abilities
  • The ability to prioritise own workload and work without direct supervision and to complete paperwork in a concise, accurate and clear manner.
  • To have a working knowledge of Infection Control and Prevention procedures.
