Job summary

Willow Lodge Care Home in Redhill is seeking a Domestic / Laundry Assistant (Homemaker) to support a household-based care model. You will maintain a clean, safe home-like environment for residents, handling domestic and laundry tasks with pride and respect.

The role offers up to £26,436 per annum (pro rata) with a 40-hour week including alternate weekends, at Willow Lodge, Redhill. If you value high standards and compassionate service in an elderly care setting, this is your chance to contribute

• Experience in housekeeping, cleaning or laundry roles (hotel experience welcomed).
• A strong eye for detail and commitment to high standards.

• Willingness to learn and follow best practices in infection control and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the household.
• Carry out daily cleaning duties in bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas.
• Wash, dry, iron and return residents’ clothing to the correct rooms.
• Ensure all clothing and personal items are clearly labelled and not misplaced.
• Organise and manage laundry processes efficiently.
• Report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Work closely with the wider team to support residents’ needs.

At Willow Lodge, we work within a Household Model of Care, where people live in smaller, family-style groups. This means you will be working in a setting that feels more like a home than a large nursing home, with a strong focus on comfort, familiarity and attention to detail.

The Role

As a Homemaker, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for People. You will be responsible for both domestic and laundry duties, ensuring that each household is kept to a high standard and that residents’ clothing and personal items are cared for with respect and attention. This role is essential in helping residents feel comfortable, dignified and truly at home.
