Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes Ltd invites applications for a Domestic Assistant at The Poets in Worthing. The role is 32 hours per week with alternating Week 1 and Week 2 shifts: Week 1 Mon Tue Wed Fri 10am-6pm; Week 2 Tue Wed Thurs Sun 10am-6pm.

Qualifications

• High standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
• Clean residents’ rooms daily after nursing staff have completed patient care.
• Clean communal areas including mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
• Ensure the home is safe by removing clutter and keeping storage tidy.
• Shampoo carpets as needed.
• Present clean and ironed laundry for clients as needed.
• Take care with residents’ personal laundry to prevent damage and present ironed.
• Check residents’ laundry for tears or lost buttons and refer for repair if needed.

Responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic Assistant at our luxurious nursing home The Poets in Worthing.

Hours: 32 hours per week, alternating weekly between Week 1 and Week 2;

Week 1 - Mon,Tues, Wed and Fri - 10am - 6pm

Week 2 - Tues, Wed, Thurs, Sun - 10am - 6pm

The purpose of this role is to keep the home clean and safe, providing a superior
service to our residents

• To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the
  home at all times.
• To clean residents’ rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have
  completed their patient care. To check flowers and plants and
  water/dispose of as necessary.
• To clean communal area’s including mopping, vacuuming, dusting
• Ensuring the home is safe e.g removing clutter, keeping storage area’s tidy
• Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
• To present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed
• To take particular care with resident’s personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in well ironed state.
• To check resident’s personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair if necessary
