Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes is recruiting a Domestic Assistant for Pentlands Nursing Home in Worthing. The role focuses on keeping the home clean and safe, delivering a high standard of hygiene for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience in domestic cleaning within care settings or similar environments.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
• Willingness to work 25 hours per week and be flexible with shifts.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' rooms daily after nursing staff have completed care tasks.
• Clean communal areas including corridors and lounges.
• Laundry handling: washing, ironing, and distribution of clean items.
• Ensure storage areas are tidy and free from clutter.
• Care for resident laundry and report damages or repairs as needed.
• Maintain the home’s cleanliness to support residents’ comfort and safety.

An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic Assistant at Pentlands Nursing Home in Worthing.

Hours: 25 per week

The purpose of this role is to keep the home clean and safe, providing a superior
service to our residents

• To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the
  home at all times.
• To clean residents’ rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have completed their patient care. To check flowers and plants and water/dispose of as necessary.
• To clean communal area’s including mopping, vacuuming, dusting
• Ensuring the home is safe e.g removing clutter, keeping storage area’s tidy
• Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
• To present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed
• To take particular care with resident’s personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in well ironed state.
• To check resident’s personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair if necessary
