Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes in Seaford is seeking a Domestic Assistant to keep the home clean, safe and well-presented for residents. You will work 24 hours per week with a rotating schedule, delivering high hygiene standards and supporting nursing staff with daily tasks.

You will handle cleaning, laundry and laundry care, ensure safety and contribute to a welcoming, respectful environment for residents and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
• Ability to clean residents' rooms daily after nursing care.
• Experience with laundry, including personal laundry care.
• Make sure resident rooms and communal areas are tidy and safe.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
• Clean residents' rooms after nursing staff have completed care.
• Clean communal areas including mopping, vacuuming and dusting.
• Ensure the home is safe by removing clutter and keeping storage tidy.
• Shampoo carpets when needed.
• Present clean and ironed laundry for clients as required.
• Check residents' personal laundry for damage and refer for repairs when necessary.

An opportunity has arisen within the South Coast Nursing Homes group for a Domestic Assistant at Abundant Grace in Seaford.

Hours: 24 hrs per week average

Wk 1 - Wed and Sun 8-4

Wk 2 - Tues, Wed, Sat, Sun 8-4

The purpose of this role is to keep the home clean and safe, providing a superior service to our residents

• To provide a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the
  home at all times.
• To clean residents' rooms thoroughly each day after nursing staff have
  completed their patient care. To check flowers and plants and
  water/dispose of as necessary.
• To clean communal area's including mopping, vacuuming, dusting
• Ensuring the home is safe e.g removing clutter, keeping storage area's tidy
• Shampoo carpets as and when needed.
• To present and provide clean and ironed laundry at all times, available for clients as needed
• To take particular care with resident's personal laundry, to prevent accidental damage and present in well ironed state.
• To check resident's personal laundry for tears, broken zips or lost buttons and refer to matron for discussion if a repair if necessary
