Job summary

Borne Resourcing Limited is seeking a freelance Document Controller for a major hotel refurbishment near Windsor. You will work closely with a site-based Project Director, Project Managers and Site Managers on a busy, multi-workstream project.

Responsibilities include managing drawings, revisions, RFIs and updated/superseded drawings, while assisting in the transition to Fieldwire. Strong EDMS experience and the ability to learn quickly are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous construction Document Control experience.
• Experience using EDMS platforms (Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, Procore or similar).
• Ability to learn a new platform quickly and become the internal go-to person.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage drawings, revisions, and superseded drawings.
• Handle RFIs and updated drawings.
• Coordinate with site teams, consultants and subcontractors.
• Support moving to a new EDMS Platform (Fieldwire) and help implement it.

Document Controller 16 months freelance Windsor Start ASAP

We are looking for a Document Controller to join a major hotel refurbishment project near Windsor.

You'll be working alongside a site-based Project Director, two Project Managers and a team of Site Managers on a busy refurbishment scheme that will generate exactly what you'd expect...

• Drawings.
• Drawing revisions.
• RFIs.
• Updated drawings.
• Superseded drawings.
• People looking at superseded drawings.
• People insisting they're definitely looking at the latest drawing.

You know the drill.

There is also an important wider piece to this Document Controller role.

The business is currently moving across to a new Document Control platform, Fieldwire, and they need a Document Controller who can help understand the current processes, get to grips with the new system and ultimately help implement it across the company. You don't need to have used Fieldwire before, but you do need to be a Document Controller who can learn a new platform quickly, analyse how things are currently done and become the internal go-to person for it. So this isn't really a role for someone who just uploads documents and moves them into folders.

You'll need:

• Previous construction Document Control experience
• Experience using an EDMS platform such as Asite, Aconex, Viewpoint, Procore or similar
• Ideally, experience transitioning to or implementing a new system
• Strong attention to detail and organisation
• Confidence dealing with consultants, subcontractors and site teams

The contractor has a good reputation and the project itself is exactly the sort of scheme that keeps things interesting - live environment, high-end finishes, multiple workstreams and plenty of moving parts.

As every good Document Controller knows, when everything is organised nobody says a word.
