Job summary

Cloudflare, Inc. is seeking a Systems Engineer to architect, scale, and operate the distributed infrastructure powering our global server fleets.

You will drive automation and reliability to keep systems fast and resilient at scale. You’ll build private cloud tooling and collaborate with Security, Network Engineering, and Product teams to deliver scalable platforms across Kubernetes, Postgres, Kafka, and other core technologies.

Qualifications

• Experience building and managing large-scale distributed systems or Linux production environments.
• Proficiency in at least one systems programming or scripting language (Go, Rust, C/C++, Python).
• Deep understanding of Linux/Unix internals and core networking (TCP/IP, DNS).
• Experience with configuration management / IaC tools (Ansible, Terraform, SaltStack).

Responsibilities

• Architect, deploy, and maintain robust distributed systems for high availability and low latency.
• Analyse bottlenecks and optimise kernel/network stacks across global server fleets.
• Build and maintain internal tools and automation for deployment, configuration, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Security, Network Engineering, and Product teams to integrate infrastructure solutions.
