Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in the United Kingdom seeks a Director of Business Development & Strategic Growth to lead New-to-Bank origination across the South West, coordinating Coverage, Sector, DFO and Product teams, and managing client portfolios with domestic and international relationships.

The role focuses on governance, pipeline discipline, and pursuing opportunities while enabling Relationship Directors to focus on client acquisition.

Qualifications

• Extensive corporate banking and relationship management experience.
• Proven track record in client acquisition and revenue growth.
• Strong commercial judgement and analytical capability.
• Ability to operate in a matrix environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the NTB growth strategy, building a high-quality pipeline of opportunities and driving client acquisition and revenue growth.
• Own the Area NTB pipeline and governance framework, chair review forums, qualify and resource opportunities, drive cadence and conversion outcomes.
• Act as primary conduit between Area, DFO, Sector and Product teams, coordinate support, align pursuit strategies and remove barriers to execution.
• Lead pursuit discipline and opportunity management, support client acquisitions, improve win rates through structured pursuit and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead Area events and business development initiatives, drive KBI activity and use of prospecting tools and market intelligence to enhance HSBC’s profile.
• Own reporting, pipeline analytics and performance tracking, monitor conversion and revenue, provide insights to optimise growth.
• Ensure origination activities operate within risk appetite and governance standards, promoting customer-focused and sustainable growth.
