Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in the UK is seeking an experienced Director, Business Development & Strategic Growth to lead New-to-Bank origination across the South West and international relationships. You will orchestrate governance, pipeline discipline and cross‑functional collaboration between Coverage, Sector, Debt Finance Origination and Product teams to enable client acquisition.

Qualifications

• Strong Corporate Banking and business development experience.
• Proven ability to secure client acquisition and drive growth.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience operating in a matrix environment.
• Strong commercial judgement and analytical capability.
• Established local area contact network.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the NTB growth strategy across the South West and international relationships.
• Own the Area NTB pipeline and governance framework; chair reviews and prioritisation forums.
• Coordinate support across Coverage, Sector, DFO, and Product teams for priority opportunities.
• Lead pursuit discipline and improve win rates through structured pursuit and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead Area events and business development initiatives; oversee use of prospecting tools and market intel.
• Own reporting, pipeline analytics and performance tracking to optimise growth.
• Ensure origination activities conform to risk appetite, policies and governance.
