Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in Bristol seeks a Director of Business Development & Strategic Growth to lead New-to-Bank origination strategy across the South West. You will coordinate Coverage, Sector, DFO and Product teams to build a robust pipeline and drive sustainable revenue growth.

This hybrid role requires strong corporate banking and client acquisition experience, excellent stakeholder management, and the ability to operate in a matrix environment while ensuring risk and governance standards are

• Proven track record in client acquisition and growth delivery.

• Possess local area expertise and own contact network.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the NTB growth strategy, build high-quality pipeline and drive sustainable client acquisition and revenue growth.
• Own the Area NTB pipeline and governance framework, chair pipeline review and prioritisation forums, ensuring opportunities are qualified, progressed and appropriately resourced.
• Act as the primary conduit between the Area, DFO, Sector and Product teams, coordinate specialist support across priority opportunities and align pursuit strategies.
• Lead the pursuit discipline and opportunity management, support strategically important client acquisitions and improve win rates through structured pursuit and stakeholder engagement.
• Lead Area events and business development initiatives, driving KBI activity and improving HSBC’s profile in local markets and target sectors.
• Own reporting, pipeline analytics and performance tracking, monitor conversion and revenue to optimise growth.
• Ensure all origination activities operate within HSBC risk appetite and policy frameworks.
