The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Digital Marketing Manager with a proven track record in e-commerce marketing. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing the company's digital marketing strategy while building and managing a dedicated in-house marketing team.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic vision and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have experience growing e-commerce brands, managing cross-functional marketing teams, and delivering measurable commercial results.

Role Overview

The Digital Marketing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing the overall digital marketing strategy for CakeCraft UK. The successful candidate will build processes, establish performance metrics, manage internal specialists, and drive sustainable growth across all digital channels.

The role requires a hands-on leader who can combine strategic thinking with operational execution and create a high-performing digital marketing department from the ground up.

While specialist resources will manage day-to-day SEO, content creation, email marketing, influencer marketing, and creative execution, the Digital Marketing Manager will provide strategic direction, operational leadership, and performance oversight across all functions.

The role will focus on ensuring all marketing functions operate in a coordinated manner through structured planning, content governance, campaign management, and performance oversight.

Key Responsibilities
Digital Strategy & Growth
  • Develop and execute Cake Craft's digital marketing strategy aligned with business objectives and revenue targets.
  • Own digital marketing performance against revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability goals.
  • Identify opportunities to increase online visibility, customer engagement, and sales performance.
  • Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly marketing plans aligned with commercial priorities.
  • Drive sustainable growth through data-driven decision- making and continuous optimisation.
Content & Campaign Management
  • Own the end-to-end content planning and campaign execution process across all digital channels.
  • Develop and maintain an integrated marketing calendar to ensure consistent content publishing and campaign delivery.
  • Coordinate seasonal campaigns, product launches, promotional events, and brand initiatives.
  • Ensure alignment between SEO, content, email marketing, influencer activity, and commercial objectives.
  • Establish content workflows, approval processes, and campaign management frameworks.
  • Drive consistency in brand messaging, content quality, and customer communications across all customer touchpoints.
Team Leadership & Department Development
  • Build and lead Cake Craft's digital marketing department from the ground up.
  • Establish workflows, reporting structures, and performance standards.
  • Build systems, processes, and governance required to scale the marketing function effectively.
  • Foster a collaborative, performance-driven culture focused on continuous improvement.
  • Support future recruitment and team expansion as the business grows.
Essential Requirements
  • 6-8 years of digital marketing experience, preferably within an e-commerce or direct-to-consumer (D2C) environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Proven experience managing and developing marketing teams.
  • Demonstrated success in driving online revenue growth and customer acquisition.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategy, content management, campaign planning and execution, SEO, email marketing, influencer marketing, and conversion rate optimisation, with the ability to lead specialist teams across these functions.
  • Experience creating marketing processes, workflows, reporting structures, and scalable operating models.
  • Experience working with marketing analytics and performance reporting tools.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered marketing tools, automation platforms, and analytics solutions to improve efficiency, content production, customer engagement, and marketing performance.
  • Commercially minded with a strong focus on ROI and business growth.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and project management skills.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience working within direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, e-commerce businesses, consumer products, FMCG, lifestyle, home décor, or home furnishings sectors.
  • Experience managing multiple digital marketing channels and cross-functional marketing teams.
  • Experience with Shopify or similar e-commerce platforms is advantageous.
  • Hands-on experience with Klaviyo, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and other digital marketing platforms.
  • Experience building teams, processes, reporting frameworks, and scalable marketing functions from the ground up.
