Job summary

Exeter College is seeking a proactive Learning Resource Centre (LRC) assistant to help students thrive by promoting digital and independent learning skills. You will support students, staff and visitors, deliver workshops and create learning resources.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence using digital technologies and troubleshooting common IT issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Experience supporting learners, delivering presentations, workshops or learning activities in a customer-facing environment.
  • Enthusiasm for creating resources and helping others develop skills and confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line support to students, staff and visitors within Learning Resource Centres.
  • Promote online and physical LRC services, resources and opportunities for learning.
  • Create engaging resources to support study, digital skills and independent learning.
  • Deliver workshops and activities to help students develop digital and independent learning skills.
  • Support students to make effective use of digital tools, technologies and resources.
  • Build positive relationships with curriculum teams to understand learner needs and promote resources.
  • Help create welcoming, inclusive and productive learning environments across LRC spaces.
  • Contribute to smooth college operations and events, including occasional evening work.

What you'll be doing
  • providing first-line support to students, staff and visitors within our Learning Resource Centres.
  • promoting a range of online and physical LRC services, resources and learning opportunities.
  • creating engaging learning resources that support study skills, digital skills and independent learning.
  • delivering workshops and activities that help students develop their digital and independent learning skills.
  • supporting students to make effective use of digital tools, technologies and learning resources.
  • building positive relationships with curriculum teams to understand learner needs and promote relevant support and resources.
  • helping to create welcoming, inclusive and productive learning environments across our LRC spaces.
  • contributing to the smooth running of college and departmental activities and events, including occasional evening working.
