Job summary

Exeter College is seeking a proactive Learning Resource Centre assistant to support students, staff and visitors in our Learning Resource Centres. You’ll help students develop digital and independent learning skills by delivering support, resources and workshops.

The role emphasizes excellent customer service, teamwork and confidence with digital tools, with occasional evening work and events across campus; safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

  • Excellent customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence using digital technologies and troubleshooting common IT issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
  • Experience supporting learners, delivering presentations, workshops or learning activities, or working in a customer-facing environment.
  • Enthusiasm for creating resources and helping others develop their skills and confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Providing first-line support to students, staff and visitors within Learning Resource Centres.
  • Promoting a range of online and physical LRC services, resources and learning opportunities.
  • Creating engaging learning resources that support study skills, digital skills and independent learning.
  • Delivering workshops and activities that help students develop their digital and independent learning skills.
  • Supporting students to make effective use of digital tools, technologies and learning resources.
  • Building positive relationships with curriculum teams to understand learner needs and promote relevant support and resources.
  • Helping to create welcoming, inclusive and productive learning environments across LRC spaces.
  • Contributing to the smooth running of college and departmental activities and events, including occasional evening working.
