Job summary

Marshal Volvo Derby is seeking a Diagnostic or Master Technician to join our aftersales team. You will diagnose and repair a wide range of vehicles, including complex diagnostics, while supporting and mentoring colleagues in a high-performing workshop.

The role offers 45 hours per week, with weekends on a rota, a strong bonus structure based on personal and team performance, and ongoing Volvo manufacturer training to advance your career within Marshall Motor Group.

Qualifications

• Qualified Diagnostic or Master Technician with a Level 3 qualification (IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Strong experience in diagnostics, servicing, electrical systems and mechanical repairs.
• Ability to mentor and support others in a busy workshop.

Responsibilities

• Carry out maintenance on a range of vehicles including diagnostics, warranty and repairs.
• Perform mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs to manufacturer standards.
• Execute complex diagnostics and fault finding to resolve faults.
• Carry out EV work (if qualified) and hydraulic repairs with safety and accuracy.
• Utilise diagnostic tools and software to identify and fix technical issues.
• Mentor less experienced Technicians and drive workshop performance.

At Marshall Volvo Derby, we're offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled and qualified Diagnostic or Master Technician to join our high-performing aftersales team. This is a pivotal role within our workshop, where your expertise will be relied upon to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues while helping to develop and support the wider technician team.

You'll be joining a dynamic and ambitious workshop team of 10, including Technicians ranging from PDI through to Master Technician and MOT Tester level, creating an excellent environment for collaboration, mentoring and continuous learning.

In this role:

• You’ll carry out a range of maintenance work on a variety of vehicles, including diagnostic, warranty and repair work.
• You’ll complete mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repairs safely and efficiently, working in line with manufacturer standards.
• You’ll carry out complex diagnostics, fault finding, warranty and repair work.
• You’ll complete EV work (if qualified) and hydraulic repairs safely and efficiently, working in line with manufacturer standards.
• You’ll use your expertise in diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve difficult technical issues.
• You’ll support and mentor less experienced Technicians, sharing your knowledge and helping to drive workshop performance.

We're looking for:

• A qualified Diagnostic or Master Technician with a Level 3 qualification (IMI, City & Guilds or equivalent). We welcome applications from technicians with experience across any manufacturer brand, not just Volvo.
• Someone with strong experience in complex diagnostics, servicing, electrical systems and mechanical repairs.
