Job summary

Stonehouse Recruitment is seeking an experienced DFG Service Manager to lead the operational delivery of the Disabled Facilities Grant and Adaptations Service in the West Midlands. The role is on an initial 6-month contract with hybrid working requiring a minimum 3 days on site.

You will oversee performance, budgets and procurement, manage backlogs, and drive service improvements while ensuring statutory and financial compliance across multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Disabled Facilities Grant and/or Adaptations Service in a Local Authority or similar setting.
• Strong track record reducing waiting lists and improving service performance.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and coordinating across professional disciplines.
• Experience overseeing budgets and maximising grant utilisation.
• Good understanding of statutory requirements relating to DFGs and adaptations.
• Experience delivering service transformation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the operational delivery of the DFG and Adaptations Service.
• Manage service performance, compliance, budgets and grant expenditure.
• Oversee procurement activity and contractor frameworks.
• Reduce waiting lists and backlogs for adaptations.
• Drive service improvement and process redesign.
• Support delivery of adaptation programmes and statutory obligations.
• Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, technical staff and contractors.
• Monitor performance and reporting for governance boards.
