Job summary

The Abbey in Tamworth is seeking a DFG Service Manager to lead the operational delivery of the Disabled Facilities Grant and Adaptations Service, with a hybrid working pattern in Abbey Hulton area. The role focuses on reducing the adaptations backlog and ensuring high-quality customer service.

You will manage budgets, procurement, and performance while collaborating with Occupational Therapists, contractors, and senior stakeholders to meet statutory obligations and governance requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience managing DFG budgets and maximising grant utilisation.
• Experience delivering service transformation and process redesign.
• Experience managing a DFG/adaptations service within a local authority or housing provider.
• Strong understanding of DFG legislation, grant administration, and governance requirements.
• Experience of procurement, contract management and performance management.
• Significant experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience reporting to senior management, elected members, or governance boards.
• Experience managing and reducing adaptations backlogs.

DFG Service Manager Details

• Location: Hybrid, Tamworth
• Contract Duration: 6 months
• Hourly Rate: £40-£45 per hour via Umbrella

DFG Service Manager Duties
