Job summary

SSEN Transmission is recruiting a Development Project Manager to drive major infrastructure projects from feasibility to delivery, including substations, overhead lines and cables. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage option development, and ensure compliance with planning and regulatory requirements.

The role combines technical, commercial, and stakeholder responsibilities, with a focus on safe delivery, governance, and alignment with long-term network strategy.

Qualifications

• Experience in optioneering and initial design phases.
• Ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams across projects.
• Experience managing budgets £10M+ in electrical networks.
• Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regs.
• Familiarity with NEC3 contracts.

Responsibilities

• Identify and form project teams to deliver milestones to construction.
• Lead feasibility studies and initial design, planning submissions.
• Manage programmes, costs, resources per governance.
• Build relationships with contractors and stakeholders.
• Maintain safety and environmental performance.
