Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking a Senior Project Manager to deliver projects in the Shetland AC portfolio, reporting to a Lead Project Manager. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team and coordinate with framework partners to ensure safe, on-time delivery aligned with the business case.

Based in Scotland, the role supports a hybrid working pattern with 50% time in the office at Lerwick, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness, and offers strong progression opportunities within a growing project portfolio as

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading and delivering projects/programmes to cost, schedule, and quality in regulated industries.
• Engineering, construction, or project management qualification/degree or equivalent experience.
• Commercially astute with experience negotiating, administering, and managing contracts (NEC/FIDIC).
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and knowledge of project management systems and governance.

Responsibilities

• Be accountable for safety, health, and wellbeing of personnel and environmental aspects of projects.
• Lead on-site project teams and contract partners with governance and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee commercial responsibilities, including contract management and budgeting.
• Provide guidance on core values and develop capable, motivated project teams.
