Job summary

Hunter Douglas Retail UK Limited is seeking a Despatch Operative for our Glaisdale site. You will be responsible for sorting goods by date, preparing items for dispatch, and assisting with loading and unloading inter-site vehicles.

This is a hands-on role, requiring accuracy, physical stamina, and teamwork. You will work in a fast-paced environment, maintain high standards of quality and safety, and use basic IT systems to support despatch processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse, despatch or similar is helpful
• Good attention to detail under pressure
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills
• Good communication with colleagues and team leaders
• Basic IT knowledge

Responsibilities

• Sort and organise products by date to ensure correct stock rotation
• Safely load and unload vehicles, handling products to prevent damage
• Prepare goods for dispatch with accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Work collaboratively with teammates and other departments to meet daily targets
• Carry out basic stock checks and ensure product integrity
• Use basic IT systems to support despatch processes
• Take ownership of tasks and escalate issues when needed
