Confidential in Gloucester seeks a Despatch Co-ordinator to support inbound logistics and despatch activities. The role involves coordinating material flow, liaising with freight forwarders and internal teams, and ensuring efficient packing and despatch processes. Some manual handling and overtime cover may be required.

Working days are 37 hours per week on dayshift. Experience with SAP and a strong understanding of logistics and customs processes are essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Logistics knowledge essential, esp. export shipments & customs.
• Inventory/Warehouse/Logistics background preferred.
• Analytical and decision-making abilities.
• Continuous improvement processes knowledge.
• SAP, order picking & shipping familiarity.
• MS Office suite (Outlook/Word/Excel) proficiency.

Responsabilités

• Co-ordinate material flow through Logistics stores, packing, despatch & customs to final delivery.
• Liaise with 3rd party freight & customs providers, 3PL and internal Logistics teams.
• Consolidate loads to maximise vehicle fill and minimise despatches.
• Process shipments in SAP; manual shipping when required.
• Support Inspection team in packing activity.
• Log shipments in DHL ClearIt; coordinate with DHL Hayes for T1s.

Despatch Co-ordinator; Gloucester; 6 months; £17.40ph paye; Inside iR35
We currently have a requirement for individual to work with an aerospace client based in Gloucester as a Despatch Coordinator . The role will be working within the Inbound Logistics Despatch team to support the Logistics team on daily Despatch Co-ordination activity; there will be some manual handling
Hours of work Dayshift 37hrs per week 07 00 M TH, 07 30 FR.
Duties will include
Co-ordinate material flow through Logistics stores, Packing, Despatch & Customs processes through to Despatch/delivery to external Customer & Sister sites.
Liaise with Logistics 3rd Party freight & customs providers, 3pl & company Logistics teams, Inspection and certification personnel.
Consolidate loads to create Van & Artic trailer consignments to maximise vehicle load fill and minimise number of despatches
Process all shipments through SAP where possible but utilising Manual shipment process where necessary
Manage & sort deliveries inbound from DHL Hub needed for from OE despatches e.g. CAT B, etc breakdown & sort identified priorities
Support Inspection team in packing activity
Log all shipments in transit in DHL ClearIt system- liaise with DHL Hayes for T1 s
Liaise with Freight forwarders, Transportation suppliers and drivers as required
Act as initial focal for any Despatch/Shipping related queries
Flexible working to support other logistics functions including Military and Gear despatches where needed
Support Out of normal hours despatches where possible to support Customer need
Technical Competencies
Logistics process knowledge essential , particularly in export shipments, customs etc.
Inventory/Warehouse/Logistics Management background preferred
Analytical and decision-making.
Continuous improvement processes and techniques.
Proficient in the use of SAP minimum knowledge of order picking & shipping
Proficient in the use of office systems Outlook, word & Excel
Literacy & numeric aptitude is essential
Sound understanding of Health and Safety i.e. Manual Handling.
