Job summary

Morson Group in Gloucester is seeking a Despatch Co-ordinator to support the inbound logistics despatch team. The role handles daily despatch coordination, liaises with freight and customs providers, and ensures loads are consolidated efficiently for optimal vehicle fill and delivery to customers and sister sites.

Based in Gloucester, the fixed-term position runs 37 hours per week on dayshift (07:30–16:00 Mon–Thu, 07:30–12:30 Fri) with some manual handling.

Qualifications

• Logistics process knowledge essential, incl. export shipments and customs.
• Inventory/warehouse/logistics management background preferred.
• Analytical and decision-making capabilities required.
• Continuous improvement techniques and processes.
• Proficient in SAP with basic order picking & shipping knowledge.
• Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Literacy and numeric aptitude essential.
• Health and Safety understanding, including Manual Handling.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate material flow through Logistics stores, Packing, Despatch and Customs to Despatch to external customers and sister sites.
• Liaise with 3rd party freight and customs providers, 3PL and internal logistics teams, inspection and certification personnel.
• Consolidate loads to maximise vehicle load fill and minimise despatches.
• Process shipments in SAP where possible; use manual shipment process where needed.
• Manage inbound deliveries from DHL Hub e.g. CAT B; prioritise and sort.
• Support Inspection team in packing activity.
• Log shipments in transit in DHL ClearIt; liaise with DHL Hayes for T1s.
• Coordinate with freight forwarders and drivers; be focal for despatch queries.
• Provide flexible support to other logistics functions including military and gear despatches; support out-of-hours despatches where possible.
