Job summary

Avove Utilities is seeking a Design Project Manager to lead complex multidisciplinary design programmes for water and wastewater assets. The role spans Durham or Glasgow offices with flexible blended working, driving safe, timely delivery within budget and quality constraints.

You will manage governance, resources and stakeholder relationships across infrastructure projects, mentoring colleagues and collaborating with external partners to ensure continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Degree-qualified in Engineering or Project Management (or equivalent).
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience managing multiple projects or programmes simultaneously.
• Experience mentoring colleagues and supporting business growth initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams to deliver water and wastewater projects safely, on time and within budget.
• Manage multiple design workstreams to meet programme, quality and commercial objectives.
• Build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, operations teams and partners.
• Lead design assurance activities, manage risk and drive continuous improvement across programmes.
• Plan and coordinate engineering resources, including external design partners and consultants.
