Job summary

WSP is seeking a Design Manager to lead design management for water sector projects, partnering with Project Director and Project Manager to oversee engineering design and ensure compliance with best practices and UK regulations.

In this role you will drive collaboration with clients and internal teams, manage resources and budgets, and promote Safety by Design across project lifecycles, delivering programmes of regional and national importance.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree (MEng/BEng/BSc or equivalent) and professional institute membership.
• Experience delivering infrastructure programmes and complex projects.
• Strong project and contract management experience, with knowledge of H&S standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead design management for mid-scale and complex projects.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards.
• Manage client relationships and collaborate with engineering teams.
• Lead client and project meetings and report progress and finances.
• Drive Safety by Design and CDM compliance.
• Coordinate across disciplines and stakeholders to deliver projects.
