Job summary

Avove is seeking a Senior Design Manager to lead the delivery of complex water and wastewater design programmes from Warrington, with a hybrid policy combining office and home working. You will manage design performance, resources and stakeholders, ensuring safe, on-time delivery within budget and quality targets, while developing teams and promoting best-practice design governance.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering with Chartered Engineer status.
• Extensive experience delivering complex water and wastewater projects.
• Proven leadership of multidisciplinary engineering teams across programmes.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts, AMP programmes and CDM regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design teams to deliver complex water and infrastructure projects on time and within budget.
• Manage multiple design workstreams ensuring quality and programme milestones are met.
• Provide technical leadership and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety principles.
• Build strong relationships with clients, partners and operational teams.
• Lead design assurance, manage risks, and drive continuous improvement across programmes.
• Plan and coordinate engineering resources including external partners and consultants.
• Mentor and develop engineers and Design Project Managers to foster high performance.
