Job summary

SP Energy Networks is seeking a Project Engineer (Design) to plan and design electrical infrastructure up to 11kV. Based in Wales, you will manage connections, evaluate loads and generator capacity, and develop network reinforcements for projects valued around £5m.

You will collaborate with planning and design teams, engage stakeholders, and drive cost-effective solutions while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a network design role.
• Thorough knowledge of design standards up to 11kV.
• Familiarity with regulatory environment and incentives.

Responsibilities

• Manage regulatory aspects of connection requests and quotations.
• Deliver designs within defined scope, costs and licence conditions.
• Coordinate planning, design and ownership activities to improve safety and longevity of networks.
• Engage with Local Authorities, housing associations and independent network operators.
• Develop robust stakeholder and customer relationships on behalf of the organisation.
• Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with safety legislation.
