Job summary
Bimplus in Glasgow is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead electrical design for utility-scale energy infrastructure, delivering concepts through to commissioning. You will provide technical leadership, mentor junior engineers, liaise with clients and contractors, and ensure compliance with UK Grid Code and industry standards across projects in the UK, with occasional site travel.

Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with strong design experience.
- Proven ability to lead electrical design work on utilities, power or renewables projects.
- Solid understanding of UK Grid Code and applicable electrical standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead development of electrical EPC/ICP designs from concept to detailed design.
- Act as technical authority for electrical engineering across multiple projects.
- Conduct load flow, short circuit, protection coordination and grid studies.
- Produce and review electrical design documents and calculations.
- Ensure designs comply with UK Grid Code and client specs.
- Support tendering, procurement and project delivery; mentor juniors.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors and network operators throughout delivery.
- Assist with issue resolution during construction and commissioning.
- Drive continuous improvement within the engineering team.
