Key Responsibilities
- Support the lead Design Manager in managing the design process for the GBP20m healthcare project.
- Act as a primary contact for design-related queries, working closely with the client, design consultants, and internal teams under the guidance of the lead.
- Assist in developing and monitoring the design programme.
- Review and provide detailed feedback on design information, identifying potential issues or clashes.
- Coordinate and manage external design consultants.
- Ensure design compliance with relevant regulations, building codes, and healthcare standards.
- Contribute to value engineering exercises and explore design solutions.
- Assist in preparing and distributing design team meeting minutes.
- Track and report on design progress, highlighting delays or risks to the lead Design Manager.
- Support the smooth flow of design information to the construction team.
- Contribute to maintaining and improving the company's design management processes.
About You
- Proven experience as a Design Manager or Assistant Design Manager, preferably with healthcare project exposure.
- Good understanding of the design and construction process, including relevant legislation and standards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Proficiency in relevant design and project management software.
- Relevant degree or professional qualification in a design-related discipline (e.g., Architecture, Building Services, Structural Engineering).
- Willingness to learn and develop your design management skills in a supportive environment.
