Job summary

Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust in Birmingham is seeking a Band 4 Medical Secretary to join the team. You will provide a comprehensive secretarial service to consultants within a busy Dermatology Service and ensure timely clinical correspondence according to Trust policy.

Experience in medical secretarial work (or AMSPAR) is required, along with English GCSE and typing qualifications. The role involves coordinating patient pathways and supporting clinical teams to deliver an efficient

Qualifications

• Relevant medical secretarial experience (or AMSPAR).
• GCE/GCSE English or equivalent, Grade C or above.
• RSA II Typing/Word Processing or equivalent.
• Shorthand qualification, 60 wpm or above.
• RSA III Typing/Word Processing or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Actively managing the administrative processes related to patient pathways and supporting clinical teams.
• Co-ordinating, navigating and tracking a caseload through outpatients, day case, diagnostics, referral to treatment and discharge.
• Advocating for patients by case-managing their journey and handling queries, concerns and appointments.
