Job summary

Transforming Support is recruiting a Deputy Service Manager to lead a large supported living service in Chipstead. You will work with the Registered Manager to support adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs, guiding daily operations and staff performance.

This is a full-time, permanent role with 37.5 hours per week, on-call duties and night checks as required. A discretionary £1,000 annual bonus and enhanced DBS are included.

Qualifications

• Experience managing or supervising a team and supporting adults with autism or learning disabilities.
• Confident operational leadership.
• Supportive approach to guiding and motivating colleagues.
• Experience developing services that respond to local communities.
• Experience building productive partnerships with other organisations.
• Strong communication, organisation and decision making skills.
• Clear commitment to person centred support, dignity and independence.
• Ability to balance daily priorities with longer term service improvements.
• Flexibility to work the required pattern, including on call responsibilities and night spot checks.

Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager with daily service operations and the operational management of the staff team.
• Guiding, supporting and motivating colleagues to deliver consistently high standards.
• Providing visible, approachable leadership and clear direction within a busy supported living service.
• Working with multidisciplinary teams and external partners to coordinate effective support.
• Promoting person centred, recovery focused approaches to wellbeing.
• Supporting assessments, new placements and safe transitions into the service.
• Maintaining high standards of quality and governance through audits and Service Improvement Plans.
• Helping shape decisions about staffing, service development and improvements.
• Working with the Registered Manager to monitor budgets and use resources effectively.
• Participating in the on call rota and carrying out night spot checks where required.
