Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited seeks a Deputy Residential Home Manager for Thornton House on a 3-month contract in Northamptonshire. The role focuses on collaborating with the Registered Manager to ensure high-quality care for children and young people, with adherence to regulatory standards.

You will lead staff, support safeguarding, and contribute to care planning and service improvement while maintaining strong multi-agency links.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Children's Residential Care setting.
• Experience supervising residential childcare staff.
• Strong knowledge of Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
• Experience handling safeguarding concerns and complaints.
• Enhanced DBS certificate.
• DVLA check required prior to commencement.
• Travel in a work vehicle may be necessary.
• Some flexible home working may be available.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations of the home.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor residential care staff.
• Conduct regular staff supervisions and contribute to their development and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, safeguarding and policies.
• Monitor safety, welfare, and outcomes of children and young people.
• Contribute to care planning, behavior support strategies, and risk assessments.
• Manage safeguarding concerns, incidents, and complaints effectively.
• Support recruitment, induction, and training of staff.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure high-standard documentation.
• Liaise with Social Workers, Families, Schools, Health Professionals and External Agencies.
• Participate in management on-call duties.
• Provide leadership and operational management in the absence of the Registered Manager.
• Support service development and Ofsted preparation.
• Foster a positive, nurturing culture within the home.

Requirements
