Job summary

Purosearch Ltd is recruiting a Deputy Home Manager for a Children's Residential Home in Doncaster. You will support the Registered Manager with day-to-day leadership, deputise in their absence, and help deliver high-quality, safe, child-centered care.

Candidates should hold Level 3 or 4 Diploma, have 2+ years supervisory experience in children's residential care, and be able to lead a team, build positive relationships with children and families, and manage administration; a driving licence is

Qualifications

  • Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Children & Young People's Workforce, Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years' supervisory/management experience in children's residential care.
  • Experience with children and young people displaying challenging behaviours.
  • Experience supporting children with Learning Disabilities (desirable).
  • Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills.
  • Good IT and administrative skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families and partner agencies.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care.
  • Flexible working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Aged 21+ in line with residential childcare regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager with day-to-day leadership and management of the home.
  • Deputise for the Registered Manager in their absence.
  • Lead on report writing, care planning and risk assessments.
  • Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings when required.
  • Support delivery of high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children and young people.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families and external professionals.
  • Supervise, mentor and support the residential staff team.
  • Promote safeguarding, positive outcomes and person-centred care.
  • Ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations, Quality Standards and organisational policies.
  • Maintain accurate records and regulatory documentation.
  • Gain practical experience across all aspects of residential home management as part of ongoing professional development.
  • Work a rota averaging 37.5 hours per week (9:00am–4:30pm three administrative days and one full shift).

Salary: £35,000–£40,000 per annum

What We're Looking For
  • Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Children & Young People's Workforce, Residential Childcare or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within children's residential care

  • Successful applicants will be required to complete an Enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references
