Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a seasoned Deputy Residential Home Manager to join Thornton House for a 3-month contract. You will support the Registered Manager to ensure high-quality care for children and young people, in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.

The role requires experience in residential childcare management, strong leadership and safeguarding skills, enhanced DBS, and DVLA check prior to commencement.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Children's Residential Care setting.
• Experience in supervising or managing residential childcare staff.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Registered Manager in overseeing daily operations of the home.
• Lead, supervise, and mentor residential care staff.
• Conduct staff supervisions and contribute to staff development and performance management.
• Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards and safeguarding requirements.
• Monitor safety, welfare and outcomes for children and young people.
• Contribute to care planning and risk assessments.
• Manage safeguarding concerns, incidents and complaints.
• Support recruitment, induction and training of staff.
• Maintain accurate records and liaise with social workers, families, schools and health professionals.
