Nursery Deputy Manager | Bournemouth – Salary: £31,000 per annum. Full-time | Permanent

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Nursery Deputy Manager to join a friendly and supportive early years setting in Bournemouth. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is ready to take the next step in their leadership career and support the Nursery Manager in delivering outstanding childcare.

The Role

As Deputy Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery. You will help lead, inspire, and support the team while maintaining the highest standards of care, learning, and safeguarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in the overall management of the nursery
• Lead and motivate the staff team to deliver high-quality early years practice
• Ensure compliance with EYFS, Ofsted, and safeguarding requirements
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (or work towards this)
• Build strong partnerships with parents and carers
• Step into the Manager role in their absence
• Support staff development, supervision, and training

Requirements

• Level 3 or above Early Years qualification (Level 5+ desirable)
• Previous experience in a Deputy Manager, Room Leader, or Senior Practitioner role
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted expectations
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
• A genuine passion for early years education
