Job summary

SGS Care Ltd in Wallasey, Wirral is seeking an experienced residential childcare professional to take a Deputy Manager role in a brand-new home for ages 7 to 17. You will work with the Registered Manager to lead staff and shape daily culture from day one.

The role includes sleep-in duties and a competitive salary with benefits; salary ranges from £39,120 to £42,057.60 per annum depending on hours and sleeps.

Qualifications

• Experience in residential childcare.
• Relevant Level 3 qualification (or working towards it).
• Willingness to work towards Level 5.

Responsibilities

• Lead the staff team alongside the Registered Manager to deliver care and support.
• Support young people aged 7 to 17 and help shape daily culture and standards from day one.
• Contribute to establishing new service practices and procedures.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Location: Wallasey, Wirral (CH44)

Salary: Approx. £39,120 - £42,057.60 per annum (calculated from the hourly rate below at 160 hours/month, plus sleep-in payments — see breakdown after the advert)

Hourly Rate: £16.25 - £17.78 per hour

Sleep-ins: £60 per night (where applicable)

Service: Children’s Home

Service Users: Aged 7 to 17

Qualifications Required: Relevant Level 3 qualification (or working towards it), with a willingness to work towards Level 5

Experience Required: Experience in residential childcare

An experienced residential childcare professional ready to take a Deputy Manager role in a brand-new home. You'll work alongside the Registered Manager to lead the staff team, support young people aged 7 to 17, and help shape the daily culture and standards of the home from day one. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants genuine input into how a new service is run, rather than stepping into an already-established way of doing things.
