Job summary

Banana Moon Longford in Coventry is seeking a Deputy Nursery Manager to assist the Nursery Manager, including acting as Room Leader in their absence. You will ensure a safe, stimulating environment and oversee EYFS delivery, safeguarding, and overall nursery operations.

Key duties include leading the team, planning the curriculum, maintaining compliance, and fostering strong relationships with families and professionals. Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or higher).
• Experience in senior childcare roles such as Room Leader or Deputy Manager.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding requirements.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in day-to-day running and lead the setting in their absence.
• Ensure the highest standards of childcare, safeguarding and wellbeing for all children.
• Lead, inspire and support the nursery team to deliver outstanding care and learning experiences.
• Oversee the planning and delivery of a stimulating curriculum in line with EYFS.
• Monitor staffing ratios and contribute to effective staff rotas.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and external professionals.

Banana Moon Longford, a well-established nursery based in Coventry, serving a diverse local community, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Nursery Manager to join our team. As part of Banana Moon Day Nurseries, a leading provider of high-quality childcare and early years education, we are committed to delivering exceptional care, learning, and development opportunities for children.

As the Deputy Nursery Manager, you will work closely with the Nursery Manager and maintain responsibility as a Room Leader, while also taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the nursery in the Manager's absence. You will be responsible for providing a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children, overseeing the implementation of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, and ensuring the smooth running of nursery operations.

Key responsibilities:

• Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
• Previous experience in a senior childcare role, such as Room Leader, Third in Charge, or Deputy Manager.
• Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and safeguarding requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of health and safety, child protection, and regulatory requirements.
• Commitment to promoting an inclusive environment that values diversity and supports every child's individual needs.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is required for this role.
