Job summary

Banana Moon Longford in Coventry is seeking a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager who will also fulfil Room Leader responsibilities and step in for the Nursery Manager when required. You will ensure a safe, stimulating environment, oversee EYFS delivery, maintain high standards of safeguarding and wellbeing, and lead the nursery team to deliver outstanding care and learning experiences.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above).
• Experience in a senior childcare role (Room Leader / Third in Charge / Deputy Manager).
• Strong EYFS knowledge and safeguarding understanding.

Responsibilities

• Support the Nursery Manager in day-to-day running and lead the setting in their absence.
• Ensure the highest standards of childcare, safeguarding, and wellbeing for all children.
• Lead, inspire, and support the nursery team to deliver outstanding care and learning experiences.
• Oversee planning and delivery of a stimulating curriculum in line with the EYFS framework.
• Monitor staffing ratios and contribute to staff rosters.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues and external professionals.
• Maintain compliance with nursery policies, health and safety and regulatory standards.
• Support continuous improvement across the nursery through staff development and quality assurance initiatives.
