Job summary

Get Golfing CIO, one of the UK's fastest-growing golf and hospitality operators, is seeking a Deputy Course Manager. The role links senior management with the greenkeeping team, requiring a flexible, self-motivated leader who can teach, train and guide staff with empathy and patience.

The successful candidate will have greenkeeping skills, agronomic knowledge and a solid understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and related legislation.

Qualifications

• Educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
• PA1, PA2 and 6a Spraying certificates.
• Experience with irrigation maintenance, repair and use.
• Knowledge of machinery maintenance.
• Excellent communication skills and IT literacy.
• Ability to lead and motivate staff, and step in for the Course Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead and motivate the greenkeeping team.
• Provide teaching, training and guidance to team members.
• Act as a link between senior management and greenkeeping staff.
• Ensure health and safety compliance (COSHH and related legislation).
• Oversee irrigation and machinery maintenance.
• Contribute to high standards of course presentation.

The Deputy Course Manager position is an integral part of the club's management structure and forms a very strong link between senior management and the greenkeeping team. The successful candidate should have a flexible approach, be self-motivated, a natural leader of people, able to teach, train and guide members of the team with empathy, humility and patience. Candidates must have good greenkeeping skills, agronomic knowledge and a reasonable understanding of Health & Safety, COSHH and other legislative matters.

For candidates to be considered they must meet all the following criteria :

• Educated to a minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent
• PA1, 2 & 6a Spraying certificates
• Experience with irrigation maintenance, repair and use
• Knowledge of machinery maintenance
• Excellent communication skills & IT literacy
• Ability to lead and motivate staff, along with and in the absence of the Course Manager

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years' experience as senior/first assistant or deputy

• Chainsaw certificate
