Deputy Children's Home Manager

Location: Bromyard

Employment Type: Permanent

Shift Pattern: 2 days on, 4 days off, including sleep-ins (requiring only 1 round trip in 6 days)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Children's Home Manager to join our team in Bromyard. The successful candidate will assist the Home Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the children's home, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment for all residents.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the Home Manager in the management and supervision of staff, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of children, acting as a role model and mentor.
- Lead shifts and provide direct care when needed, including participating in sleep-ins.
- Monitor and evaluate care practices, identifying areas for improvement.
- Contribute to staff recruitment, training, and development.
- Ensure effective communication with families, external agencies, and professionals.

Qualifications and Experience:

- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent; Level 5 in Leadership and Management is desirable.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role within a children's residential setting.
- Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding policies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
