Job summary

Biffa is seeking a Traffic Dispatcher / Transport Administrator for a 12-month fixed term contract in the UK. The role covers day-to-day depot operations, route allocation, and ensuring health & safety and environmental compliance.

Typical hours are Monday to Friday, 08:30–17:00, with emphasis on timely, accurate administration. You’ll optimise routes, monitor driver availability, and support maintenance checks while delivering high-quality service to customers and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in administration, call handling, or time-critical environments is advantageous.
• Ability to plan, prioritise and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of local area and customer-focused service delivery.
• Proficiency with business software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Optimising routes and vehicle utilisation to deliver top-class service.
• Managing driver availability and ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Overseeing vehicle checks, safety and maintenance.
• Handling payroll, timesheets, tachograph records and reporting.
• Driving cost-efficiency by analysing depot data and improving operations.
