Job summary

FTH Hire Group, a leading UK plant and tool hire company, seeks a Hire Controller to lead depot operations and deliver outstanding service. You will oversee hire activity, fleet stock, contracts, and inquiries while partnering with logistics and sales teams to grow the business.

Successful candidates will have strong organisational and communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to develop customer relationships and win new opportunities in a fast-paced, field-based environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in hire operations or a similar depot role.
• Background in construction or plant knowledge is desirable but not essential.
• Proven ability to manage depot hire operations and customer delivery.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage depot hire operations to meet agreed service levels in an efficient, personable way.
• Oversee local hire fleet stock levels and coordinate with internal teams to maximise supply.
• Audit local hire contract activity to support contract quality management.
• Quality manage new hire contracts and off-hires and handle general inquiries.
• Support central logistics to ensure efficient running of transport for service delivery.
• Coordinate with the Re-hire team to identify growth opportunities.
• Handle incoming calls and sales enquiries to support the local team.
• Provide hire and transport rate support when the Depot Manager is unavailable.
• Identify new business opportunities from inbound enquiries and work with teams to win new accounts.
• Develop existing and new customer accounts through outbound sales activity.
• Support and achieve sales growth targets for all FTH products and services.
