Job summary

Landmarc Support Services are recruiting a Training Area Operative to support the Defence Training Estate at Ash Vale. You will help maintain a safe, efficient training environment for the Armed Forces and assist with range operations. No prior experience required beyond a can-do attitude, with full training provided.

Hours are 06:00–23:00, Monday to Sunday. The role offers excellent career progression, robust benefits, and a commitment to safety and teamwork within a rural outdoor setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Grounds and Landscape Maintenance.
• Basic IT skills with ability to use a tablet.
• Ability to work effectively in a diverse, fast-paced team environment.
• Good knowledge of COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and Health & Safety protocols.
• A valid Manual UK driving licence is essential.
• Knowledge of working in a rural environment.
• Knowledge of range assignment instructions and range standing orders.
• Experience as a range/ training area user.

Responsibilities

• Keep the Defence Training Estate in top condition.
• Carry out preventative, planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
• Operate and maintain plant and equipment (training provided).
• Manufacture and deploy targets.
• Equipment testing.
• Drive and operate fleet vehicles.
• Use warning systems including training control offices, flags and lights.
• Ensure facilities adhere to safety protocols.
• Complete work orders and pre-planned maintenance.
• Document all activities using IT and paper-based systems.
