Job summary

Babcock at RNAS Culdrose, Helston, Cornwall, is seeking an IT Customer Support Specialist to join a defence-focused IT team. You will bridge customers, operational stakeholders and internal IT staff to maintain critical services.

In a fast-paced environment you’ll manage IT incidents, hardware, software and audiovisual systems, while delivering training and onboarding for new starters. This on-site role offers a path to develop technical expertise within a global engineering organisation.

Qualifications

• Experience providing second-line IT support in a professional environment.
• Experience supporting users in a Windows and Microsoft technology environment.
• Strong customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships with colleagues, customers and wider business teams.
• Commercial awareness and understanding of delivering services within agreed standards.

Responsibilities

• Supporting users with IT incidents and service requests, delivering an excellent customer experience.
• Acting as the escalation point for local operational IT issues and flying training events.
• Managing and maintaining IT hardware, software, telecommunications and audio-visual equipment across the site.
• Providing IT inductions for new starters, including preparing and deploying hardware and user accounts.
• Configuring and supporting training environments, including classroom technology and equipment deployments.
